Lesson 1 - Introduction to Generating & Editing Complex Waveforms for Function Generators

The first section of this course covers the key features of a modern function generator that help engineers generate complex waveforms. You will leave with an understanding of what standard, advanced, and arbitrary waveforms are. You will learn how to use a function generator to perform waveform combining, synchronizing, modulating, and triggering.

In the second and third sections of this course, you will learn various editing methods and determine the best method based on its advantages and disadvantages. You will also be exposed to the sophisticated method of creating a waveform playlist or waveform sequencing to help you generate long and complex waveforms in an orderly process.

Who should take ABCs of Generating and Editing Complex Waveforms for Function Generators?

This course is designed for design engineers, validation engineers, product engineers, manufacturing engineers, R&D managers.

Many engineers think of the tedious process of learning how to write a program to generate a waveform. With modern waveform generators, you no longer have to look at creating and editing waveforms with doom and gloom.

Creating and editing arbitrary waveforms on a modern function generator or arbitrary waveform generator is now easy. In this course, you will learn how to take advantage of built-in editing features in a function generator and PC software tools to generate complex arbitrary waveforms for testing.

We'll cover:

  • Features of a modern function generator
  • Creating and editing waveforms
  • Creating a waveform playlist
