Signal Integrity Measurements and Network Analysis (EB)
Faster edges mean that engineers can no longer rely exclusively on time-domain or frequency-domain techniques. This course explores new signal integrity challenges inherent in today's high speed digital technologies.
For High Speed Digital Technologies
Data rates are faster than ever, which in turn drives faster edge speeds. Edges are now so fast that short PCB traces are becoming microwave transmission lines. This makes signal integrity more important and more challenging than ever before.
Why Signal Integrity and Network Analysis?
Faster edges mean that engineers can no longer rely exclusively on time-domain or frequency-domain techniques. This course starts with a refresher of S-parameters and transmission lines, then digs into essential signal integrity topics like eye diagram analysis, time domain reflectometry (TDR), common PCB manufacturing issues, and error correction techniques.
These techniques are then applied to a real world example - a XAUI high speed backplane.
Who should take this course?
This course is designed for engineers that need to make signal integrity measurements to design, verify, and test their high speed products.
Signal integrity measurements are complex, and this course builds a foundation that you can use to understand and improve your device's signal integrity.
